Scavenger Hunt With Whine
Give me something that works mechanically, and I can figure out how it works and how to fix it when it's not working. That's because I can see wheels turn, levers move, actions and reactions. But put me in front of a computer and I have no idea what is going on inside it. I click here, I drag there, as directed. It seems to be almost random whether or not the item I was trying to insert actually shows up.
Take Mr. Linky. (Please!) I wrote down all the steps to inserting the link on my blog and followed them faithfully. But it told me I had an html error and would not display the link. And do you know how I had to fix it? I had to tell it to quit showing me html errors! So if I log on to my checking account and see that I am overdrawn, can I just tell the computer to stop showing me that negative balance and voila! I will have money in the bank?
This rant was inspired by the Scavenger Hunt code. I tried, I really did, but it was beyond me. The 4th time I found myself trapped in the same little maze (sort of like a "Twilight Zone" episode), I decided to vent my frustration, then tell you what I am doing. So here is today's theme: mirror.

I'm technologically illiterate too and I believe that all computers should come with a "stuff it" key for those times when they drive you up the wall. :o)
Michele sent me today.
I'm like yaeli, I don't understand these things... but I put my url in and it seemed to work, but I have no idea what or to where I'm linked! Here via Michele.
These Scavenger Hunts look fun. It makes you look at your pictures in a new way. I have no idea if I have any pictures of mirrors. I do a lot of photos with refections. I guess that would count.
Michele sent me.
This is a great idea! Maybe later on today, I'll try to join the scavenger hunt and put up some mirror pictures. (I just don't have time at the moment to configure the link to typepad's blog template!)
Enjoyed cruising through your site. I'll be back!
Michele sent me:)
Michele sent me, MiteyMite.
HTML holds no secrets from me, computers generally work okay around me, but I have no idea what this scavenger hunt is about. If I need a pic of a mirror I won't be able to do anything fancy. I only have 3 in my house--the big ones in each bathroom.
As for your html issue, MiteyMite--I suspect you might have an unclosed anchor tag. You probably just need to add /a somewhere (but it needs to be in brackets--I just can't use them here or else it'll try to execute the code)
here from michele's this time. I think you may be onto to something with the on-line banking theory. maybe i'll try it. lol
You have now entered the Twilight Zone.
Michele sent me here.
If technology were a bit easier to use, I'd essentially have no job. So I'm perversely pleased that things don't always make as much sense in the virtual world as they do in the real one.
I know, that makes me a techno-snob. Sorry :)
Popped by from Michele's today. Happy 100th blogaversary!
The HTML issues has to do with touchy Blogger and scripts. You just need to click to Ignore the problem and post. :)
Thanks for playing along - it's a very nice photo! :)
yeah it is rather annoying i agree. i had to follow the link to find out about scavenger thingy. so its a good job you managed it. otherwise i wouldn't have the foggiest what was going on..
very cool idea and a lovely photo.

You made me laugh with your rants. So funny. I tellya, I've been there....done that. (You're lucky to have a son who helps you out!! ---come on, give him some credit. roflmao)
Thanks for dropping by my Saturday Photo. Glad to have you with us on Saturdays now. It's fun.
BTW, where is your son? Did he get washed away with those heavy rains last week...you? Did you get flooded? (That reminds me I gotta call MY son!)
Happy Saturday. Your photo is awesome, so cute and reminds me of my childhood and playing dress up. Awesome.
Oh, I love the picture. My little girls are all grown up now so it was a sweet reminder of their youth. My future star is up. Come take a peek.
