Saturday Photo Hunt: Technology

This is a picture taken by satellite on December 25, 2004 of the "South Texas Miracle". It was the same sort of lake effect snow that Buffalo N.Y. gets. A cold front blew clear out into the Gulf of Mexico, and when the wind shifted back, it brought tons of moisture with it. Amazingly, incredibly, and for the first time in at least 100 years, it came in the form of snow on Christmas Eve. I know I have cheated a bit, since I obviously did not take this picture, but I am so glad we had the technology to record our miracle. Those of us who experienced it will never forget it.

Wow- that is neat! I'm used to lake effect snow up north- but I bet Texas wasn't. LOL

Happy Saturday!

That is so awesome! what would we do without the technology of today. I would be able to cope because I'm old school, but the younger people would probably go bananas. :)

Thanks for stopping by.

.....and we moved to the south to get AWAY from the snows of Colorado!!! (But glad we're not IN Colorado any longer....they're being hit hard!)

It only lasted a day tho....cute part is, our neighbors had never EVER seen or experienced snow and wife was out video-camming hubby scooping the stuff.

Miracle or not, I destest the stuff myself. Lived too long where the winters were nothing but snows---for 6-9 months.

(H E B published the Christmas Miracle...did you get your copy?)

Happy weekend.

We live in such wondrous times, and your entry reminds us so concretely of that simple fact.

Because I spend my every working moment researching, writing and speaking about technology, it's easy to become jaded. But I often stop myself so that I can think about the magic thatmakes it all possible.

Even something as simple as posting a comment on a blog. Imagine that: I can send a message to a friend across the continent. Just like that. Such sharing is something my grandparents would have found incredible. It's important for me to take the time to do just that, for it is.

Thanks for the reminder. This is amazing indeed.
