Saturday Photo Hunt: Silver
In this silver-colored frame are the pictures of my great-grandparents, when they were much, much younger than I am now -- younger, in fact, than my children are now. These were taken sometime in the 1890's. The baby on the left is my grandmother. I looked so much like her mother when I was younger that it was like looking in a mirror the first time I saw the picture. The woman on the right was my grandfather's mother. She painted beautiful pictures, and had such a profound influence on me that I named Dolphin for her. I have authentic, shiny (okay, not so shiny, needing polish) silver, but this one is dear to my heart.

I love old pics... and it's even cooler when you realize that the folks are related to you....
Wonderful choice for today's theme!
That is great. How wonderful to have their photos. I just love old photographs.
Thanks for stopping by.
I agree with Gup. Old pics ARE cool and much cooler when they are family. I think it is awesome that you have these great pictures of your great-grandparents. I need look into getting some of mine.
I bet it IS dear to your heart. And, if you're like me with the old pictures, you have them setting out somewhere.
Beautiful frame too.
Love the silver theme this week.
I have an old pic of my great grandparents like that, gramps is holding their first baby, one of 13, and grandma is pregnant with the second one, standing in front of the log cabin they built in 1900, their first home after they immigrated here from Italy.
I love old pics like this, they give such a sense of history.
I have a photo of my grandmother taken in 1916, just before she got married. I look so like her it's a bit scary.
Also, meant to say - we are really the first people who have been able to look back a hundred years and see what our ancestors looked like. Kind of nice.
